Adhesives and coatings
Adhesives for woodworking and edgebanding
Adhesive is the least visible part of a piece of furniture and one of the most decisive for its quality: the edge joint, bond strength and how the part behaves over time all depend on it. Choosing well means looking at the application, the materials, the equipment that applies it and the manufacturer's technical information.

Where adhesive comes in
Edgebanding
Bonding the edge to the panel on automatic or manual edgebanders; it defines the visible joint.
Assembly
Solid wood and panel joints in furniture and joinery assembly.
Surface laminating
Laminating or veneering flat surfaces and profiles.
Special applications
Humidity, heat or heavy-use conditions that set specific requirements for the bond.
How we evaluate your adhesive needs
We don't recommend an adhesive in the abstract. We evaluate it from four elements of your process:
- 01
Application
What is being bonded, at which stage of the process and what the part will face in use.
- 02
Substrate and edge
Panel or wood type and edge or overlay material; each combination has its own requirements.
- 03
Equipment
How it's applied: glue unit type, working temperature, feed speed and cleaning.
- 04
Technical data sheet
Use, storage and compatibility conditions are always confirmed with the manufacturer's documentation.
What to review when choosing an adhesive
- Bond requirements
- Resistance to heat, humidity or stress, depending on where the furniture will be used.
- Visible joint
- In edgebanding, the color and thickness of the glue line affect the final look.
- Machine process
- Working times, temperature and ease of cleaning must fit your equipment and pace.
- Plant conditions
- Ambient temperature, humidity and storage all influence the result.
- Validation
- Before switching adhesives in production, a trial with your materials and equipment is recommended.
This page does not replace the technical data sheet. Compatibility of an adhesive with your materials and equipment is confirmed with the manufacturer's documentation and, where appropriate, with trials in your process.
Adhesive FAQ
Can you recommend an adhesive without seeing my process?
We can offer guidance, but a responsible recommendation requires knowing the substrate, edge, equipment and service requirements, checked against the manufacturer's technical data sheet.
Does the adhesive depend on the edgebander?
Largely, yes. The gluing system and its working conditions determine which adhesives are suitable. That's why we usually review both together.
Will switching adhesives affect my production?
It can affect settings, cleaning and cycle times. We recommend validating the change with trials before rolling it out.
Where can I find the exact use conditions?
In the manufacturer's technical and safety data sheets, which are the reference for application, storage and compatibility.
